Copilot Studio Quotas & Limitations
- Copilot quotas, networking requirements and limits:
These are solely based on the copilot license purchase and are configurable and can be adjusted for custom agents on case-by-case basis.

- Knowledge Source Support and Limitations:
- Websites: Any Public websites not ending in extensions like .html or .aspx or anything else.
- SharePoint Sites:
- Only Modern SharePoint Pages are supported, Content from classic ASPX pages on SharePoint aren't used to generate answers.
- In addition, SharePoint sites containing the following file types can be used as knowledge sources:
- Word documents (DOC/DOCX), PowerPoint (PPT/PPTX), PDF files, TXT Files
- Files Size Limitations:
If Microsoft 365 Copilot license is present: files up to 200 MB.
If Microsoft 365 Copilot license is not present: files up to 7 MB (* Larger files can be supported via implementing custom code solutions)
- Sensitivity Labels on files:
Files with sensitivity label as “Public,” “General Business” are supported.
Files with sensitivity label as “Confidential,” “Confidential – Internal or External Recipients”, “Restricted – Named Recipients Only” are not supported.
Files with sensitivity label as “Personal” are supported conditionally only i.e. based on logged in user and author/manager of the document.
Encrypted files are not supported.
- If Restricted SharePoint Search is enabled, the copilot blocks use of SharePoint.
- SharePoint sites with an accordion navigation menu or a custom CSS aren't used to generate answers.
- SharePoint ACL and Security:
SharePoint’s Access control list is in check w.r.t logged in user interacting with the copilot.
If user does not have access to the SharePoint site/pages/files acting as a knowledge, then for an user’s query copilot may respond with “No answers found.”
- Enterprise Data: Enterprise data are supported like Enterprise (private) websites, Salesforce, ServiceNow Catalogs and Knowledge and Tickets, Zendesk.
* For any kind of on-prem tools/data, further feasibility may be required.
- Technical Challenges
- Many users have reported consistency issues while using copilot’s Generative answers feature.
- Some of the events and features are not supported in teams channel w.r.t web channel.
